Qualification Description
This one-year qualification reflects the role of individuals working in a variety of dance teaching
contexts, including private dance studios. They apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable
problems and analyse and evaluate information relating to the assessment of dance students. They
may provide leadership and guidance to others and have limited responsibility for the output of
others.
The job roles that relate to this qualification may include dance fitness instructor or dance teacher.
With its personal approach, the Certificate IV course provides dance teacher and management
training in a supportive environment, along with industry lectures to help enhance skills and career
development.
Graduate of this course often consider auditioning for a Diploma of Dance Teaching & Management
as a means of furthering their training and professional development.

CUACHR412 Create short dance pieces
CUADTM412 Promote the physical and emotional wellbeing of children in performing arts
CUADTM413 Apply safe dance teaching methods
CUADTM421 Teach basic dance techniques
CUADTM431 Design and conduct dance learning program
CUAWHS405 Provide a safe performing arts environment for children
HLTAID011 Provide first aid  

Elective Units
CUADLT311 Develop basic dance analysis skills
CUADTM404 Teach basic jazz dance technique
CUADTM405 Teach basic contemporary dance technique
CUADTM406 Teach basic tap dance technique
CUADTM419 Teach ballet at junior level
CUAMWB401 Develop and implement own self-care plan in the creative industries
SISFFIT007 Instruct group exercise sessions

 

Contact Hours
Weekly dance/technique classes over 12 months (Mon-Fri after-school hours and Saturdays) that
cover the genres in the elective units.
1x theory class per week (time to be advised)
NB: Dance/Technique class times will vary depending upon skill level. Fulltime class times may be
available to school leavers

Pre-Requisites and Minimum Age
There are no pre-requisites, however applicants are required to attend a private audition in person
demonstrating competence of at least one dance genre at a Certificate IV level. Minimum age of 15
years.

Tuition
The Certificate IV in Dance Teaching & Management cost is $4,400 including GST plus the cost of
dance/technique classes throughout the 12-month period.
We offer a Unlimited package of $13,000 including GST which includes all general classes +
qualification (CEP, Privates, Vocal Coaching, and Troupe Choreographic Intensives not included)
A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 + GST is required upon acceptance to the course.
