Enrolment
How do I enrol?
Enrolment is made via the ThinkSmart online portal. Payment is required at the time of enrolment.
Does enrolment carry over from one term to the next?
No, families are required to re-enrol at the commencement of every term via the enrolment portal.
Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Syllabus
What are the minimum number of Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) ballet classes my child must be enrolled in per week?
- Students must attend a minimum of 2x RAD ballet classes per week.
- RAD ballet classes are held on Monday and Wednesday nights.
- Should your child wish to participate in Exams, they must attend the following compulsory exam prep classes in the school holidays:

Can my child participate in RAD ballet classes without participating in exams?
Yes, however students not participating in exams are still required to attend the minimum 2x RAD classes per week to ensure all students are all learning the syllabus and developing their technique and artistry at the same pace.
Solos at Eisteddfods and Competitions
Eligibility for students to represent GWB Studios at eisteddfods and competitions
- Students must be invited to participate as soloists and represent GWB Studios.
- Students are assessed as potential soloists every 12 months.
- 2025 Solo Invitation Letters will be sent out before the end of Term 4, 2024.
Choreographic Ownership
- All solo choreography created by GWB faculty for students is owned exclusively by GWB Studios
- Students do not have any ownership rights or claims to the Choreography.
- If a student leaves GWB Studios, choreography cannot be used or passed on to a third party without permission from GWB Studios.
- Choreography created by GWB Studios faculty can only be cleaned, polished, altered by GWB Studios faculty.
- Costume design will be led by the teacher who created the piece and must be sourced and created by the parent/s or guardian/s of the student.
Attribution and Credit
- When performing or showcasing solo choreography, students must provide proper credit to the Choreographer and GWB Studios. For example:
‘Grow’, Choreographer: Lilyana Lloyd, School: GWB Studios - Credit should be prominently displayed in any public performance, video, or social media posts.
Expectations of Solo Choreography Students
Student/s with choreographic pieces are expected to:
- Enter competitions under GWB Studios.
- Behave with respect, kindness and professionalism at competitions.
- Wear GWB Studios apparel (GWB jacket or vest). Merchandise/apparel from other dance or calisthenics studios is not permitted to be worn at a competitions.
Private Lessons
Are private lessons available?
Students who are invited to enter solo competitions representing GWB Studios have priority over private lesson timeslots.
Technique Privates
Technique Privates are available to any student enrolled in one of our programs. GWB Studios will allocate the faculty member best suited for these privates. Please note some students may be required to have private lessons for additional preparation in the lead up to exams.
Vocal Privates
Vocal Privates are available to any student enrolled in the Musical Theatre Program.
All Privates
All private lessons are offered on a weekly per term basis; subject to availability, must be paid in advance to secure.
Fees
- Classes, programs and private lessons are not secured until full payment is made.
- All payments are non-refundable should a student miss their class, program or private for any reason.
- Should GWB Studios miss a class, program or private due to teacher availability, GWB will provide a make-up session or a credit to the family’s account.
- Exceptions are made for a long-term illness or injury of which will require presentation of a medical certificate.
Troupe
Eligibility
All students are welcome to participate in troupes.
Does my child need to audition for troupe?
- Classical Troupe will be by invite only.
- Students can participate in all other troupes as long as they are enrolled in a minimum 2x classes per week over a 12-month period.
What are the costs?
Weekly Troupe Rehearsals in Term are FREE of charge for any student enrolled in the Ultimate Classical, Musical Theatre or Cali Enhance Programs.
Additional costs include:
- Weekly Troupe rehearsal costs [should a student not be enrolled in one of the above-mentioned programs]
- Troupe and/or Performer Entry Fees
- Costumes

Troupe Conditions
• GWB Studios will decide whether a troupe will compete at competitions.
• Troupe members are expected to attend rehearsals consistently throughout the year and be well mannered, kind and respectful to all at competitions.
• GWB Studios may rescind a student’s involvement in Troupe should there be issues with attendance or behaviour at rehearsals or competitions.

Do all students perform in the concert and is it compulsory?
All students can perform in the end of year performance, however not all classes present a piece (for example Stretch & Conditioning and Acro classes). Students learn performance pieces in Term 4; however it is not compulsory to participate.
The Premises
- We have a ‘Kiss and Drop’ at the door policy, parents are not permitted inside.
- There are no exceptions, and this includes students who attend private lessons.
- Students will be provided the door code that we change periodically to ensure our students safety.
Food and Drink
- Food is not permitted inside the dance studios.
- Glassware is not permitted inside the dance studios (sealed water bottles are permitted).
- Healthy food and snacks are permitted during breaks in the Green Room (not the hallways). With exception to birthday celebrations, please do not bring cakes, chocolates, sweets to the studios.
- We have students with severe nut allergies and therefore do not allow food containing any traces of nuts.
Code of Conduct
- Students are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner during lessons, rehearsals, and performances.
- GWB Studios will not tolerate bad-mouthing or defamation of students, parents or other dance schools and their students. Foul language, bullying and disrespect will not be tolerated.
Social Media
- Any students, parents or staff members utilising social media in relation to GWB Studios and choreography must act with integrity, professionalism and take personal responsibility for what they communicate. Before reacting or posting please ensure sure you are aware of laws covering defamation, privacy, and the protection of intellectual property such as choreography.
- If using choreographers outside of GWB Studios faculty, social media posts should credit GWB Studios as the School alongside the Choreographer credit.
- Students and Parents are not permitted to contact faculty directly via their personal social media accounts or mobile phone numbers.
